Small world but huge difference. Today, I was searching about expensive laptops and I found one laptop to have price tag of nearly $350,000. It is Tulip E-Go Diamond. From the name you can rightly guess that it has a touch of diamond.
I could find a nice description of this laptop in AMDboard.com:
“Tulip E-Go notebook inlaid with solid palladium white gold plates in which thousands of brilliant cut diamonds have been set. The quality is V.V.S. top-Wesselton and the total weight is 80.00 Crt.
I do not how many people can afford this laptop or even how many people are willingly spend so much after a laptop. However, I know that those people who would buy Tulip E-Go Diamond, would simply buy it for status symbol or as a fashionable item not to play games or watch a movie with it. About its technical specification, I am quoting from Softpedia:
“The E-Go laptop is hand bag shaped and it is targeted at ladies, so, not exactly for gamers. Though, the specifications are good. The system is based on an AMD Turion 64 processor, with an ATI Radeon Xpress 200 graphic chipset and featuring 1 GB of DDR RAM PC3200 memory. The hard disk can store 100 GB SATA and the display is a 12.1 inch widescreen WHGA, supporting 1280 X 800 pixel resolution.
Tulip E-Go Diamond sound system is a 2.1 one stereo, while the battery has a four hour lifetime specification.”
Only four hour of battery life. I am extremely disappointed. I would not bother to pay $350,000 just to have 4 hours of battery life. Instead, I will try to have one unit of the world’s cheapest laptop at $100. Haven’t you ever heard of One Laptop Per Child project? Of course, if you are day dreaming about Tulip E-Go Diamond then you should not remember it. What is $100 laptop after all. You can find the answer in the project website:
“The proposed $100 machine will be a Linux-based, with a dual-mode display—both a full-color, transmissive DVD mode, and a second display option that is black and white reflective and sunlight-readable at 3× the resolution. The laptop will have a 500MHz processor and 128MB of DRAM, with 500MB of Flash memory; it will not have a hard disk, but it will have four USB ports. The laptops will have wireless broadband that, among other things, allows them to work as a mesh network; each laptop will be able to talk to its nearest neighbors, creating an ad hoc, local area network. The laptops will use innovative power (including wind-up) and will be able to do most everything except store huge amounts of data.”

Even this $100 laptop will have a way to charge it with alternative energy sources. So, I am a big fan of this $100 laptop. The only problem is that I am not a school children anymore. I still do not have a child of my own either. So, I will have to wait until a commercial version comes to the market at $200 or some more!
Which one would you like to buy?

Definitlythe 100$!!! why do i need diamonts to write my mail??????
First off, that laptop is the worst laptop ever second, the shape is ugly who would buy that crap!!
cuz its got diiiiiiamonds nigga
lol my rigs better then that, and it only cost me little over $2000. Definently a status symbol. What a waste of money, if i had that much money to spend it on a computer... I would build one with dual 8800 gtx, quad core extreme intel processor, 3 gig or more of ram, over a terra byte of storage, 30 inch or more monitor, logitech g5 mouse, logitech g11 keyboard, a really fast internet speed, liquid cooling, steelpad 5l mousepad... laser printer, surround sound, awesome sound card... anyway it would probably all add up to around 10k, and thats about the best computer you can get without being stupid and paying 350k for something worse.
I´m posting anonymous because I am not looking to "flash" with my comments.
I am a self made billionaire, and googled "most expensive laptop" because I wanted to buy the "dream" laptop.
Too sad they focused that much on diamonds, as I don´t like them: they look like glass, there is so much nicer rocks on the planets. It look like they took the presentation picture on the floor.
I have luxurious stuff, like a pen that cost me around 100K. But it was associated with a great cause, to help people help themselves. I don´t see any cause associated with that laptop... just a cash exchange for vanity.
I much better like the green one. I like its look, and the fact that it put back the computer into its context : It´s a tool, guys !
Even though status symbolism tends to be my way of choice, in this case the 100$ laptop is far superior. Not even mentioning the re-wind capabilities, its design is much more up to date, and the functions of it would provide just the same as the 350,000 one. Whats the point in buying the status symbol, when you could just own a Vector? (Vector is a very rare production car produced in the 90s)
Who would be stupid enough to buy an ugly diamond laptop, it doesn't have proper specifications or a good look, in fact it's so ugly that no one would even believe it costs that much and if I were willing to spend that much I'd make my own dream laptop with 5gb processor, 15tb hard disk drive or 1tb solid state drive and 10gb of ram with such a beautiful look and a finger print sensor and a camera, I'm also very rich and have a very expensive laptop that costed me 2,700$ American from Sony corporation and the other green 100$ ugly pathetic laptop belongs in a garbage can from how ugly it is but I gotta admit it's worth every penny
Great insight into laptops market price. i do believe it is normally useless to spend so much money for computer only though we should not compromise quality with price.

so now...if i had the choice, id buy the $100 laptop. It looks like crap (it is made for kids afterall), probably built like crap, performs like crap...but damn, a wind up power source?! Thats good thinking. It wouldnt replace my $2,700 HP tx1000z tablet, but it would be great to put in a breakaway bag or use in an emergency situation.
hi,
i saw the details of tupil e go diamond.
i think it dose not worth for it's cost.
r they fools to place diamons in lap top.
Well im a self made trillionair and i think your all a bunch of chops!i bought five of these laptops and use them to tile my shower.hey i guess that make them the most expensive tiles too!!!someone should check that out.peace out ladies!!!

Well I do agree the 350k laptop isnt worth the value, but for the love of gods, dont call the $100 laptop crap...I have my students using a laptop whose daily family income is around $5.
No one is asking you people to buy the $100 laptop. So you better leave it to those kids who are the target customers of this laptop.
Besides, my 6 year cousin loves the green notebook and for your kind information simply abhors my notebook with a $3800 price tag...
reason it has a black colour... :D
Never (and I mean NEVER) have I seen so many ignorant people in one place. A $350,000 laptop is the single most rediculous thing I have ever heard of. Speak of your self made billions but you're all just liars on a stupid website's commenting page. Go buy a real laptop with your billions and maybe somewhere online you can find a life, and learn to speak english...
this dimond laptop is no use it just a normal laptop with dimonds only for a show off u shud buy the green 1 i noe it is ugly but atleast it is better than the dimon laptom you can use the green laptop for emergency or sumthin
i only have 50$ so buying any of those labtops is out of the question...
and on a second note. if you have a good enough computer to go on the internet. why are you loking for pricy laptops that can do the same thing.
i can understand if you are coming from a library, but come on all you other folks.
give me a break.
fuck off the green one is better
where i come from, hundreds of the $100 type will put lots of smile on many poor kids faces, so if you have $350000 to play with, please think of bringing light to these poor kids!and become their hero

I agree, that if you want to show off or say stupid stuff, you should learn at least how to write in English. And, you "rich people" try to keep your crap to yourselves.
P.S.
Do not be stupid and ignorant!!!
what does a 35k laptop do for u that the green one cannot?its not the fault of the so called billonaires, their wants has been turned to be their needs so they care less about other things.just think of the smile that will be put on the face of people of africa.so be wise in spending ur cash on craps.i am an incoming industrielist and dont spend my money on this things.just put urself in the shoes of the people in africa and u will understand.if u werent fortunate to be rich what will u do.will u be seconding what those ingrates are doing?
Does anyone know where I can buy one of those $100 Laptops???
yo guys..here's the most freakin' expensive laptop ever been (ridiculous)..
In late March 2007 Luvaglio of London released, by appointment only, the world’s most expensive laptop.
The laptop comes in a self opening case and features a 17-inch wide-screen LED display with an anti-glare coating, 128GB hard drive and Blu-Ray player.
There is screen is state of the art, it features a self cleaning system so you can keep your grubby little hands off of it.
What would a laptop be without a security system and what would world’s most expensive laptop be without an expensive security system? This one doesn’t disappoint, it comes with a colored diamond which must be inserted into the power button to start it up.
If you’re looking to get your hands on one of these be prepared to shell out over $1,000,000 USD
interested??
I have an Alienware Laptop Maxed out to date. for times when I'm updating my laptop. I use a measely laptop with only 4GB of ram my 8GB Alienware has Diamonds in the eyes located on the front of the laptop. The Illuminated diamonds are simply.. amazing. but it is quite ridiculous to buy a laptop like this with this many diamonds.. it's like asking to be robbed. I've had attempts at my laptop.. but I'm smart enough not to leave it unattended.. it spends most it's time in a locked alienware titanium case. with a code... not easy to break into.. it's even been stolen once. but it was recovered. this many diamonds is ridiculous. but I would not buy the other laptop unless I was giving it to a child.. or something similar.. like a hobo. neither is crap, just overpriced... I would buy neither. and if you people look up alienware.. it sometimes makes people look in awe at how amazing it is. as it is one of the best and most supported companies by me. as well as the best laptop I have ever laid my hands on. i'm not a million or billionaire, but the two diamonds
