Apple in CES: Steve Jobs Renames Company and Unveils iPhone and Apple TV

Apple Computer CEO Steve Jobs on Tuesday in CES unveiled iPhone and Apple TV. Also he renamed the company to just "Apple Inc.," since company has focused on consumer electronics more than past.
Up coming Apple TV in February at price of $299, is an internet TV that caters access to music, pictures and video directly on consumers' TV. Also, it allows people to send video from their computers to their televisions and to share content from others people’s computer. Apple TV is the new version of iTV.

According to Apple’s statements in CES, goal of company for producing this device is help the users that they can more easily watch their downloaded movies on a big screen. Apple TV can hold 50 hours of video and has got a 40-gigabyte hard drive. Also, It is equipped with an Intel microprocessor that is able to handle videos, photos and music streamed up to five laptop PCs or computers within the wireless range.

Apple has said the new device will hold 50 hours of TV and offer a host of connections including HDMI, USB2 and 802.11 wireless networking including b, g and the new wireless n draft so you can connect it to your Apple computer.

The feature lists include an Intel processing chip and interface that has been designed for widescreen TVs, and the ability to auto sync from Apple computers like the company already offers for its iPod.
Users will also be able to stream live movie trailers via the Internet as well as view side shows of photos. As with iTunes, movies and music get covers to give it a very interactive feel.

Another gadget that Steve Jobs unveiled on Tuesday was iPhone. As this blog is a laptop-computers blog, I just quote the features of this new gadget.

The iPhone, which starts at $499, will "reinvent" the telecommunications sector and "leapfrog" past the current generation of hard-to-use smart phones, Jobs said.

The iPhone uses a patented touch-screen technology Apple is calling "multi-touch." The phone automatically synchs your media -- movies, music, photos -- through Apple's iTunes Music Store. The device also synchs e-mail content, Web bookmarks and nearly any type of digital content stored on your computer. The iPhone is less than a half-inch thin -- less than almost any phone on the market today. It comes with a 2-megapixel digital camera built into the back, as well as a slot for headphones and a subscriber identity module, or SIM, card.

The phones, which will operate exclusively on AT&T Inc.'s Cingular wireless network, will start shipping in June. A 4-gigabyte model will cost $499, while an 8-gigabyte iPhone will be $599, Jobs said.
