Precision M4300: 15.4" Workstation Laptop with Santa Rosa

Dell Precision M4300, the successor of Precision M65 model, is available in Dell website and you can order it from now. It comes with Intel Santa Rosa platform and all of its features. It is a high performance portable laptop for big offices, university teachers and professional business consumers.

This 15.4" laptop, based on Intel Santa Rosa comes with latest Core 2 Duo processors, Intel's Turbo Memory which enables the laptop to boot faster, Intel's vPro technology—a series of management and security features that are built into the platform, 802.11n draft Wi-Fi standard and discrete NVIDIA’s Quadro FX graphics solution which is designed for graphical applications like 3D modeling and video-editing.

It is very customizable and the price starts at $1,399. It comes with up to 160GB SATA hard drive at 7200rpm or with up to 32 GB solid state drives.

This laptop line up has both facilities of PC Card and ExpressCard slots and a docking connector. Also, it provides a module bay, which can be populated with an optical drive, a secondary HDD, a secondary battery, or left empty.

Pros:
Nice design,
loud speakers,Low noise level, except when the fans are running or the DVD drive is running, noise level for those is same as other notebooks.
Both PC-Card and ExpressCard slots
5+ hours of battery with optional 9-cell battery on battery saver mode
Serial port (very important for network admins)
Staying fairly cool on the bottom,
the hinges are metal, NOT plastic
Built-in broadband wireless gets good reception.
Wi-Fi and Bluetooth have good range
Biometric security/access (fingerprints) works great
Anti glare screen is GREAT

Cons:
It is pricy when the configuration contains some higher features
VGA out not DVI port, not HDMI
Only 3 USB slots,
Only one internal drive bay
No internal flash card reader. The optional Intel N wireless card is not dual band, it will not run in N speeds over 2.4ghz frequencies, only 5ghz (so make sure your wireless Access Point is 5ghz capable)

Business people need very good network connection and they can get easily from this laptop. It provides a variety of EVDO and HSDPA broadband wireless choices and an optional Bluetooth.

Security is another important factor that it is arranged in best level in this laptop. Integrated Smart Card reader, Trusted Platform Module 1.2, optional fingerprint reader and Wave Embassy Trust Suite security software are best components to decrease the risk of data theft to the lowest level.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t have built-in camera for video conferencing and there is no information about the keyboard and the model of speakers.
