Now everywhere you can find the articles about MacBook Air laptop or MacBook Air is among the hottest word that is search in all search engines as google. The Problem is that now getting a good conclusion about this laptop has become some tough. Writes have started to focus on details and you may find the description of only one component of this laptop like only, battery, USB port, or different adaptors in the articles.
- The starting price at $1,799 is very reasonable for this laptop.
- It is world’s thinnest laptop. Its thickness or height is between 0.16" to 0.76" ((0.4-1.94 cm) and you can put it easily in an envelope. The dimensions are 12.8 inches (32.5 cm) X 8.94 inches (22.7 cm) (W X D).

- It is lightweight. It weighs only 3 lbs.
- The chassis is sleek, sturdy anodized aluminum.

- It comes with Intel GMA X3100 graphics processor with 144MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory which is enough for this laptop.
- Featuring 13.3" glossy widescreen display (1280 X 800-resolution) with LED backlighting
- The Oversize trackpad or TouchPad with multi-touch technology (like the iPhone’s) let you pinch, swipe, or rotate to zoom in on text, advance through a photo album, or adjust an image.

- A full-size, backlit keyboard with crisp keys. The backlit key illumination helps you to work in low-light settings such as airplanes and conference halls.
-The speaker is mono only (not stereo) and the quality of sound is not appreciated.

- Powering by the processor with the clock speed of 1.6GHz Intel Core2 or a 1.8GHz Core 2 Due for higher configuration.
- Using 1.8" spinning hard disk which are typically slower than the 2.5" hard drives. Also its size is only 80GB (4200-rpm) which is not so standard for today.
- The option of 64 GB SSD but of course with paying extra $1000.

- Lack of an integrated optical drive. You can solve it either with buying a $99 external Apple MacBook Air SuperDrive (lightweight slim DVD burner connecting through 500mA USB port means it needs only a special hardware!) or using network connections and getting movies and music from iTunes. You can also barrow the optical drive from another computer with the new software that is available on MacBook Air. (Cons or disadvantage)
- Remote Disc lets you wirelessly use or “borrow” the optical drive of a Mac or PC in the vicinity. So you can have full access to an optical drive without having to haul one around. But for having Remote Disk you have to install DVD in another PC or laptop first.
-you can back up files wirelessly using Apple’s new Time Capsule.
- The main memory is 2GB of RAM and there is no way to increase it. (Disadvantage or Cons)

- A Built-in iSight camera
- The ports are covered by a flip down door which is sturdy.
- Only a single 500mA USB port (Cons or disadvantage).
- There is no FireWire port. Apple thinks this is an old way for transferring all of your files, music, photos, and other content from your old Mac to your new MacBook Air. Instead use the wireless way.
Install the Remote Disc Setup software on the old Mac, and it will then be available to transfer information onto your new MacBook Air. It’s all wireless. All simple. And all secure. But MacWorld.com doesn’t think this way. They think FireWire port is very necessary when there is no integrated optical drive.
- There are a headphone jack, and a micro-DVI port (Maximum can drive a 24-inch monitor) that supports DVI, VGA, composite, and S-video output. (The MagSafe power connection has been reconsidered and slimmed to fit MacBook Air)

- You can get the facility Apple Micro-DVI to Video Adapter. This Cable provides both S-video and Composite video connectors so that you can view content from your computer on TVs, VCRs, or overhead projectors with S-Video or RCA (Composite) connectors. It Costs only $19.00.

- You can buy Apple Micro-DVI to VGA Adapter for $19.00 if you need to connect to an external VGA monitor or projector. (Connect the adapter to the Mini-DVI port of your MacBook Air and the VGA end of the adapter to an external VGA monitor or projector).
- No buit-in wired Ethernet connection (Cons or disadvantage). You can solve this problem by using Ethernet to USB adapter. For $29 you get a 10/100Base-T Ethernet connection through The USB
-It does have 802.11n wireless LAN. (Good side or Pros)26- A Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR built in. (Good side or Pros)
-The battery life lasts for 5 hours
- The battery isn’t removable! (Cons) Yeah, this is a big problem that the battery is not user-replaceable. So, When you are in a plane on your way and if the battery of your MAcBook Air finishes you sadly have no way to replace it.
- The battery is a lithium polymer one and according to wiki, the life expectancy of such batteries is 24 to 36 months.
- If you need to change the battery, you just need to take your MacBook Air to the nearest Apple store, or send it through a mail service and spend extra $129.
- It uses 45W MagSafe power adapter with cable management system
-It uses MagSafe, but the new connector is angled 90-degrees to stay out of the way. You can use a regular MacBook / Pro adapter or you can use the MBA's 45w adapter on other machines -the plug should still fit, but the adapter may not have enough juice to charge AND power a running machine.
- MacBook Air Laptop runs on Mac OS X Leopard. And this OS contains some important app as Safari (web browser), Time Machine (for Backing up your files automaticly on an external drive), Boot Camp (for running a Windows app), iChat, Mail, and Address Book and iCal. There is iLife 08 (iPhoto+iMovie+iWeb), as well.
