Yes! It can be a good option for regular travelers who need a lightweight ultra portable laptop with more facilities than MacBook Air provides.

The price of ThinkPad X300 starts from around $2,400. The Configuration that can have entire the highlight features like 64GB SSD, Bluetooth 2.0 EDR, Intel UWB, GPS, Verizon WWAN (EV-DO), and web camera gets the price around $3,000.

Pros:
- Very thin with sturdy chassis made of carbon-fiber / glass-fiber, resistant against abuse and drops, and better than the previous ThinkPad laptops
- Attractive design in total black,
- The number of ports (3 USB 2.0 ports, Gigabit Ethernet, Audio out, microphone in, Monitor out, Kensington lock slot) that it has is more than MacBook Air.
- Quite capable of running office applications, photo editing tasks and performing any general web related tasks, (but is not suit to deliver good performance for 3D graphics applications or any heavy duty rendering tasks).
- The boot-up time is mere 32 seconds (with SSD) that is very nice.
- 13.3" WXGA+ screen on the X300 is nice and bright, with its 300 nit LED backlit spec.

- The full-sized keyboard is as good as every previous ThinkPad's keyboard
- A generous sized touchpad with scrolling areas and pleasant good quality palm rest.
- Good sound and speakers with good position (on the corners of the laptop)
- Standard Lithium-Polymer battery lasts for up to 4.3 hours and the extended battery lasts up to 6.5 hours. As you know the Lithium-Polymer batteries have no propensity of explosion. According to wiki, the life expectancy of such batteries is 24 to 36 months
Cons:
- It doesn’t provide any PCMCIA or ExpressCard slots and no type of media card reader
- It doesn’t have a docking station and the Replicator connects via USB
As you see this review is not complete yet and there is no test on the matters of heat, the condition of performance when there are bunch of applications running together, and how are the features of camera and GPS and how well the WWAN, WLAN, Bluetooth and Intel UWB work and respond.
