Dell has given new price tags to its Dell Vostro 1000 models. Right now if you check out the Dell website, You will find Dell Vostro 1000 with the starting price of $399 and Vostro 1510 with the starting price of $499.These two systems are really attractive offers in terms of features and prices compared to 10" Wind PC ( $499)or 10" Eee PC 1000 (Eee PC 1000h pricing $650 at Amazon) or 8.9"Eee PC 901 ($600 at Newegg). employees.
Dell Vostro laptops have been made for small Businesses having maximum up to 25 employees. Dell Vostro 1000 is a mainstream laptop with 15.4" display. It is clear that in terms of portability and size mini-laptops and battery life ( very often) are best options but in term of features, Vostro 1000 and vostro 1510 stay beyond the mini laptops mentioned above. For instance, these two Dell laptops sport built-in optical drives, more USB ports and slot while mini laptops are short of them.

However by just adding a $25 extra you can add a fingerprint reader to your laptop or by adding another extra $25 you can easily have a laptop with Intel Core 2 Duo T5670 (1.8GHz, 2MB L2 Cache, 800MHz FSB). So by only paying $550 you can have a very good business laptop with good security. These are the privileges that you can get automatically on Dell laptops but they are not available for any of mini laptops!
