Lenovo Launches ThinkPad X200- A Serious Rival for MacBook Air With 0.8-in thickness

Lenovo Yesterday Launched its new ultra portable laptops 12.1" ThinkPad X200 which is a serious rival for MacBook Air with its 0.8-inches thickness. Last night along ThinkPad X200, Lenovo introduced 13.3" IdeaPad U330, ThinkPad W500, T400 and T500 with optional 64GB SSD, as well.

ThinkPad X200 with 4-cell battery weighs 2.95 pounds (1.34 kilograms) (while MacBook Air weighs 3 lbs). Also, ThinkPad X300 laptop comes with 0.73 thickness and weight of 2.93 lbs.

ThinkPad X200 is powered by up to a 2.4GHz Core 2 Duo processor, up to 4GB DDR3of RAM, both SSD (64GB) and traditional hard drive options (up to 320GB), and watching Blu-ray movies on the laptop through an optional ultrathin optical drive and integrated graphics.

The system will sport wireless options including integrated Wi-Fi and mobile broadband and later this year UWB, WiMAX and GPS.

The laptop’s price starts from $1,199 and it will hit the market from August 2008.

-Having ENERGY STAR 4.0
-Good security with TPM v1.2 chip, Smart card, Finger print reader, password manager and so on
- Sturdy chassis; Magnesium alloy covers top and bottom
- Long battery life from 3.3-4.3 hours with 4-cell up to 9.6-hours with 9-cell battery
- Lightweight only 2.93 pounds (1.32kg)
