Ubuntu Is the Best Linux Distribution for Laptops

There are many Linux distributions for last few years in the market like Ubuntu, SUSE, Xandros etc and thus it brings this question in mind that which version is more friendly-user and more suited to laptops. If you look at the market of low-cost laptops you can not reach to a clear answer because different laptop makers have used different Linux operating systems. For instance, HP mini-note uses SUSE Linux Enterprise Desktop or Asus Eee PC runs Xandros Linux (the custom version) or Acer Aspire one uses the new Linpus Linux Lite or Everex Cloudbook runs on gOS ( a version of Ubuntu).

But which of them do the consumers prefer more or which of them are more familiar?
There was a poll done by liliputing about this matter and the result is interesting:

- Majority voters chose Ubuntu. 68% of voters preferred Ubuntu for their laptops. Next, 10% of users preferred Xandros Linux, 8% chose SUSE and 8% preferred Linpus Linux Lite, and in the end 7% liked PCLinuxOS.

What do you prefer among the different Linux Distributions? Have you ever experienced Linux OS? Do you think gradually Ubuntu will become a competitor for Windows in the next years?
