As it was announced before, we are expected to see several ARM-based netbooks at Computex show. One of these netbooks will be a touchscreen netbook from Pegatron that is powered by chips from FreeScale consist of ARM processing cores.
This netbook comes with a 10.1-inch display and will run on one if the Linux distributions like Android, or Ubuntu. The companiy has not mentioned that if Android will be their onboard OS.
ARM as central processors are used mainly in mobile phones especially smartphones are low-cost, battery efficient processors to help out to users to keep their mobile devices on and use for more than one day without any single charge.
ARM-based netbooks are claimed to work with battery for 9 or 10 hours unceasingly. So far 6 companies such as Asus, Acer, and Quanta have taken making and developing these type of netbooks seriously and are presenting in this year Computex show with different ARM- based netbooks. Some of them are eager to show their netbooks running on Google’s Android, as well.
