Apple Saw 25% Growth in Mac Sales in May Indicating No Impact of Microsoft’s Laptop Hunter AD

Microsoft came up with a television ad in May titled ‘Laptop Hunter’ which, many thought, would leave a negative impact on Apple’s highly successful Mac laptops. Well, the reality seems to be different now. Apple scripted 25% sales growth in its Mac sales in May while the overall growth of the laptop market was just 1%, and thus, making no indication of any impact of the television ad on Apple’s Mac sales. Rather, there are some analysts who think that the ad campaign of Microsoft helped Apple to promote its Mac brand of laptops in what increased their sales.

However, there are some others who believe that Apple could have experienced better growth for Mac, had Microsoft not initiated the Laptop Hunter campaign. Well, it is not easy to say what could have happened to Mac if there was not that ad, but one thing is for sure that Apple Mac is going very well, even though it costs nearly $2000 amid the cash-strapped global economy and there are a number of notebooks which are available for half of what Mac laptop charges.
