Dell Adamo XPS: Is it wise to pay $2000 for a slim laptop?

Dell Adamo XPS, the 9.9 mm thin laptop, is going to be released on October 22, 2009. The laptop was first unveiled at a Dell event on October 22nd. Specs of the device has not been revealed but according to an article published in Business Week the laptop features a “heat-sensing strip on the lip” which, when swiped with a finger open up the aluminum lid. the Adamo XPS will cost $2000.

No doubt, the new Dell Adamo XPS looks stylish and sleek but the big question is- Does it pack enough power to fulfill the needs of a regular computer user? or is it just a slim stylish laptop? Obviously, there is a trade off between the slick design and functionality. The device has no optical drive, meaning you would have to carry an extra device with you. Anyway, we will have to wait till October 22nd.
