Google Nexus One photo with Android 2.1

For the last couple of days, I have been writing about the Google Nexus One, the upcoming smartphone from Google. On December 14, 2009, Engadget posted pictures of the device. The phone is very thin and sleek and there are four touch sensitive buttons and dedicated volume rocker on the side. The phone was supposed to be produced by HTC but the HTC logo could not be found anywhere. The Google Nexus One comes with Android 2.0.1. The new OS has 3D elements on its applications tray. It also has an extended homescreen. Engadget reports:

Additionally, there's now a new grid icon at the bottom of the homescreen, which when pressed brings up a webOS card-style preview of all homescreen pages -- which raises some interesting possibilities. Apparently there's been a new software update for the device pushed tonight, and sure enough the phone is identified as the Nexus One on the system info page.

The Nexus One has Wi-Fi and the phone that Engadget received was running on

T-Mobile. The phone has Google Navigation and the new Google Googles, a visual search app that will find out locations based on your mobile images. There is also a video clip of Android 2.1’s boot animation on Nexus One.
