The Best Way to Protect your Laptops Stolen Data

Laptop of theft and the bacteria are becoming increasingly very common matters simply because the number of laptops in use is all the time growing very rapidly in the whole world. For ordinary people, it may not be such a big deal because they do not have that much of sensitive information that Can cause a lot of damage to them financially. On the other hand, think of the company that has a lot of sensitive information in some laptops that gets stolen and if that that the fall in the wrong hands then it can cause a lot of damage to the financial health of the company. Sometimes, this kind of accident if even can feel a company.

There is an other kind of problem that is taking place in lot in Europe and America with laptops. Many wireless companies are now offering Laptops for a very cheap rates for the consumers who are ready to take some kind of broadband Internet deal and can pay on installments. Often, some customers and do not want to pay the rest of the money in installments and the only thing they lose it is perhaps an Internet access but they still have a very expensive laptop. That the companies lose a lot of money and it is becoming a growing concern among most wireless providers in Europe and America.

To solve this to problems, the makers of Internet modems are now thinking of putting up some kind of facility that can make a laptop unusable in this kind of situation. There is some fear that this kind of thing may not be a very popular thing among the consumers but up among the big companies it can be the blessing that they are looking for. After a laptop gets stolen then with the modem, it’ll be possible to completely shut it off and it will not be used for any other thing. This can become a very popular gift for the companies and for consumers but you have to remember that you have to give some additional money for getting this kind of facility.

Microsoft officials should remember that if the consumers really want to save some money on technology budget then they should go for linux operating system which is free. Dell Adamo Comes with Irreplaceable Battery

You already know the market buzz regarding Dell Adamo which will reportedly be the thinnest ultra-portable available in the market. This new ultra-thin laptop from Dell is considered to be a competitor for Apple MacBook Air which has already had a strong position in the market. Alike Apple MacBook Air, Dell’s Adamo laptop seems to have a similar disadvantage and that is: users can not replace its battery by themselves.

For a battery replacement you have to send it back to Dell factory. That means, you can not replace its battery while you are traveling. I think, this is a big disadvantage for Dell Adamo, because those who spend most of their working hours on the go may face lack of battery charge while on the go. Acer Aspire One Coming with 11.6-inch Display

The next laptop from Acer’s Aspire One line up would fall in between Netbook and Notebook categories. Acer has so far launched 2 netbooks in its Aspire One line up and is now planning to release a laptop with 11.6 inch display, a feature rarely found in Netbook. The 11.6-inch screen will offer 1366 x 738 resolution which is also very close to a standard laptop. Powered by Intel Atom Z530 processor, the laptop is expected to feature GMA500 integrated graphics and Intel SCH USW15S motherboard. VGA and Ethernet will also be available in this Aspire One laptop. Though the price is not yet confirmed, it is expected to be less than $500 in what would make it a lucrative deal for the laptop users. The company has not announced a deadline for the next Acer Aspire One laptop.

So, you can neither call it a netbook nor a notebook as its features reportedly overlaps both the categories. To be honest, I think, it could be an attractive laptop for those who are looking for large screen ultra-portable available for a netbook price range. So, much of its success would depend on its pricing.

HP Laptop Batteries with 3-Year Warranty

HP is going to offer a 3-year warranty for its laptop battery from now on. The laptop battery which uses Sonata cell produced by Boston Power Inc, a battery producer based on Massachusetts, can afford to take full charge for 1,000 times. There are some other attractions for the lithium-ion battery. First of all, users can charge 80% within 30 minutes that you can not find in any other lithium-ion battery.

The batteries will be available in 18 laptop models from Hewlett-Packard (HP), but as of now, the Sonata batteries will not be available in HP business laptops, though talks between Boston Power Inc and HP over the extended use of this battery in HP laptop line up is currently going on. The battery seems to be environment friendly as it does not use polyvinyl chloride, and thus, earning Nordic Ecolabel certificate. As it lasts for longer time than any other lithium-ion battery, users would require less or no replacement in what would cut the waste. However, this laptop battery from HP costs $20 more than many other lithium-ion batteries as it is priced at $150. Now, let us see if the battery can live up to the expectation of laptop users.

Apple Scores Big in Maine with MacBooks

I always think that Apple MacBooks are expensive and they are not ideal for education for students. Well, it seems that the government of Maine do not agree with me and it is fine. They have decided that students studying in public schools should get laptops and for this they are going for MacBooks. Students from the 7th grade to the 12th grade will get a laptop.

It is a good initiative from Maine but I wonder why they did not go for OLPC. OLPC laptops are very cheap and they can really help to bridge the digital divide everywhere including USA.

Students from 7th-12th Grade to Receive Laptop in Maine, USA

John Baldacci, the governor of Maine, USA, has announced that the state government would provide students from 7th to 12th grade with laptops in the state. There are two major reasons behind this program. First, students can use the laptops as educational devices in the classroom which are expected to accelerate their education. Second, when the students will take the laptops to their homes, their families will be able to connect to the services provided by the State's CareerCenters.

While speaking at the State of the State address, John Baldacci, said that Maine had always been ahead of others in using technology in the classroom. Here, it is notable that Maine government launched laptop program in 2002 and the same year, Maine distributed 30,000 computers among the students from 7th and 8th grade in public school till 2003. He has also announced that 100,000 Apple laptops will be provided by the state government on lease which will cost $25 million every year.

Eee PC 1008HA 10 Inches from Asus

In 2009, we are enjoying a healthy competition between Asus and Acer over netbooks. Asus is trying to focus on bringing a series of models of laptops in the line of Eee PC. Now, there is Eee PC 1008HA. It has 10 inches display and I am very happy for it because I really hate any laptop with 7 inches display. Its thickness is just 1 inches and its weight is just 2.4 pounds ( a bit more than 1 Kilo Gram).

I often cannot understand why companies like Asus do not give us enough information and instead most users have to know about laptops from different websites and blogs.

One thing that should have in this laptop model is that the users would be able to share documents among themselves even without any internet connection. Not only that, the user will have access to Eee Arena and through it, they can have access to many songs and games.

OLPC Opening Up hardware Design but Major Laptop Makers not Interested

When Nicholas Negroponte announced his vision of producing a laptop for just $100 then many people laughed at him and they thought that it would be just a publicity stunt. Well, the price of a OLPC laptop is now almost 200$ and they may feel vindicated about it. However, you have to remember one thing that still, no one have been able to produce a laptop cheaper than Nicholas Negroponte. So, it is a cool news that Nicholas Negroponte has announced that they would open up the hardware design and it would become open source. In other words, anyone would be able to use the hardware design of OLPC laptops.

This is very good news because I just stated that no company has yet been able to produce a laptop cheaper than OLPC. Well, I felt some surprised to see that the major laptop makers are not interested about this matter. Instead, they are thinking of focusing on netbooks.
