Apple iPad buyers will not have to worry about shipping delays anymore

Shipping delay of the Apple iPad is not news anymore. Due to the huge demand of the device, Apple often misses its shipping dates. Now, iPad owners would not have to worry about delays anymore. In its latest announcement, Apple said that it will start the shipping process for all its six iPad models within 24 hours after getting orders online.

Apple unveiled the iPad in January. It first released the Wi-Fi only version. It started taking pre-orders from March 12, 2010. The Wi-Fi only iPad was launched on April 3, 2010. In April, the company launched the 3G model. As of late July, Apple sold more than 3.27 million units.

Initially, Apple was able to deliver on time. On March 27, 2010 the company announced that any pre-orders would face a shipping delay of more than a week. In case of 3G-enabled iPad, the early pre-orders were delivered in late April while later pre-orders had been delayed till May 7, 2010.

At one point, customers had to wait for more than two weeks after placing orders. Shipping delays slightly declined during May, June and July. Things improved further in August as shipping delays declined to around three to five days.

The condition of the international launch was worse for it was delayed for a month. iPad customers in the U.K., France, Japan, and Italy were able to place preorders in early May and received the device in late May. Those who ordered after May 12, 2010 had to wait till June 7, 2010.
