Google is testing a new search technology that instantly changes the entire page as the reader keeps typing in the search box. Rob Ousbey, an SEO consultant in the U.K., found out about the test and captured results on video. Here is the clip:
If you look at this video clip you would see that this new search technology is actually an extended version of its query suggestion tool. The query suggestion tool generates suggestions for search in the form of list as you type in the search box. In this technology, the entire search page changes as you continue typing in the search box just like the suggestion tool.
The video clip shows that upon typing “s” the suggestion tool generates various suggestions. Upon typing “stra” the suggestion tool generates “straw.” Upon typing “straw” the search results page changes immediately, including ads to strawberry pie.
In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, Google CEO, Eric Schmidt said, "I actually think most people don't want Google to answer their questions,…They want Google to tell them what they should be doing next."
Google is always extensively testing its search engine for it brings the bulk of the company’s revenue. A Google representative told Techcrunch that the streaming search is in test phase and at any given time, the search engine giant conducts somewhere between 50-200 tests.
