New cases and screens show iPod Nano coming with touchscreen

With Apple Music Event closing in the rumor mill has gone wild. Recently, photos of cases by Chinese company, X-Doria, surfaced which indicated to an square shaped iPod Nano. This means the new iPod Nano would be smaller and should be more like iPod shuffle, the smallest music player produced by Apple, in terms of design. It would also retain its tradition I/O connector. Here is the picture.

The bumps on the side of the cases indicate that new iPod Nano would have buttons on the side probably volume control. Case manufacturers have been creating protective cases for the new Apple iPod Touch and iPod Nano since July.

It is also believed that the new iPod Nano would come with a touchscreen rather than its iconic click wheel. Taiwanese blog, Apple.Pro reported a touch screen measuring 3cm by 3cm that would be used in the 6th-gen iPod Nano. Here is the picture:

The second-generation iPod nano had a screen that was about 3cm by 2.5cm. The current iPod shuffle is not large enough to house a USB doc. Instead, it has a special USB cable that connects the device through its headphone jack. If the new iPod Nano comes with same USB cable then users would not be able to use it with other devices.
