Android getting equal to Apple in consumer interest

Last year, many people were not interested about buying up an Android-based smartphone but that scenario has changed. In its recent study on Android-based phones and iPhone, independent research firm, Change Wave, revealed that more and more people are now becoming interested to buy Android-based smartphone.

The firm interviewed 4,000 people and tried to gain an understanding of the mindset of the smartphone buyers who are going to purchase a new device in the next 90 days.

The above chart shows 37 percent prospect phone buyers are going to buy an Android based smartphone. Compared to the firms June study this shows a 7 percent increase.

On the other hand, 38 percent of prospective smartphone buyers are going to buy an iPhone which shows a 12 percent decrease compared to the firm’s June study.

According to Paul Carton, VP Research, Change Wave, compared to its last year data, this showed a six-fold increase in consumer preference for the Google OS.

The major reason behind this surge is Android phones comes with lots of choices which the iPhone do not have. If you are looking for a neat user experience then you should head for the iPhone but if you do not like the idea of being bound to a carrier then there is the Android phone.

Currently, all major U.S carriers have their own Android based smartphone which is absent in for the iPhone.

Apple iPhone will have a dedicated group of consumers for a long time but Android phone would continue to grow and attract more users due to its divers.
