Apple iPad will be available in Target retail stores from October 3rd

It’s confirmed now, starting from October 3, 2010, Apple iPad will become available at Target retail stores. Another popular electronic retailer, Best Buy, will also sell iPads in the coming holiday season. This shows Apple is now trying to hold on to the top position in tablet PC market by making its popular iPad tablet PC available to more customers via various retail outlets.

On September 12, 2010, Engadget reported that it received tips from a reliable source that Target will be selling Apple iPads. The popular tech blog also published a picture from a Target PDA which showed product item and price tag that matched to the price of the iPad. Engadget also said that iPad would be found at the Digital Audio section.

Of all the six models of iPad, Target will offer four. These include all three Wi-Fi only iPad models and one 3G iPad model. The base price of iPad starts from $500 and do not expect any kind of discount.

On the other hand, Best Buy would offer all six iPad models and plans to promote them heavily during the holiday shopping season. It also plans to expand distribution of the device to all its 1,093 stores in the U.S.
