Steve Jobs and President Barack Obama had a meeting on October 21, 2010, and the two talked about America’s education and job creation. The President is currently on a four-day campaign tour through the western U.S. states for the midterm elections that would take place on November 2, 2010. On that day, he was in Washington to host a rally for Democratic Senator Patty Murray.
According to Robert Gibbs, Press Secretary, White House, the two met at the Westin Hotel in San Francisco. He said, "They discussed American competitiveness and education, especially reforms such as the president's Race to the Top initiative,…They then talked about energy independence and ways to increase job creation."
Obama and Jobs first met in 2008. Barack Obama is known to use Apple products in White House and Steve Jobs is a big democratic supporter. In 2000, Jobs donated $50,000 to the Democratic National Committee and in 2003, former Vice President Al Gore joined Apple’s board of directors. In 2006, he donated $26,700 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee.
That day President also attended a $30,000-a-plate fund-raising dinner at the home of Marissa Mayer, Vice President, Search Products & User Experience, Google, Inc. and another at the home Steve Westly, VC, Clean tech.
