Android to become Market leader in Smartphone OS Industry in 2011

This is another good and exciting news for Google as Android is expected to overtake Symbian as the leading operating system of its smartphone in 2011. According to a report of Digitimes, in 2011, Android will have the highest market share in the whole world by capturing 29.7% market share. In 2011, Symbian is expected to have 28% share whereas iOS will get 16.7%.
This is a bad news for Nokia because Nokia is clearly losing the battle in operating system. Nokia phones are still popular globally because of countries like India and China. In fact, in India, China, Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Indonesia, Nokia is very popular and you know these five or six countries have nearly 40% of the global population.
The main reason that Android is becoming so popular is the fact that it has got technological support from Google and it has accepted by many mobile phone companies. The only bad news is for Bill Gates whose Windows Phone 7 is yet to take any notable market share. Digitimes has predicted that in 2011, Windows Phone 7 will have nearly 5.1% of global market share. This is not bad but if you think of the difference between Google and Windows then it is something that will not make Bill Gates and his colleagues very happy.
