Smartphones are rapidly becoming popular in every part of the world. More and more popular even in not so rich but populous countries India, China, Nigeria, Indonesia are buying in smartphones in large number. So, now a days, a smartphone is more than a mobile phone and many of the works we do with our desktops or laptops like reading and writing emails, browsing Internet etc. So, with the growing popularity of smartphones, the sale of laptops and netbooks are bound to suffer.
Another competitor to Laptop is tablet. With tablets, we can do even more books and the display of tablet is from 7" to 10".
Both smartphone and tablet have some big problems. First of all, their display is yet smaller than laptops and netbooks. Especially, if you think of smartphones then most of their display is around 4" or 5" and it is like a torture to see a movie in this kind of small display.
For people like me, the matter of keyboard is indeed a very big matter. Frankly, I do not feel comfortable even with keyboards of laptops and netbooks. So, I really would not think of typing something in a smartphone or tablet device unless I am really forced.
Imagine playing games in your smartphone vs in your laptop. So, I really feel that it is indeed too early to write laptops off in favor of smartphones and tablets.
