Dell Venue global launch takes place in Hong Kong

On December 23 2010, Dell globally launched its Dell Venue, Android 2.2 based smartphone in Hong Kong. A week earlier, on December 16, 2010, the device was launched on Korea Telecom of South Korea and is priced at 700,000KRW ($606). In Hong Kong, it would cost HK$3,999 (US$514).

In simple words, the Dell Venue the smaller version of the Dell Streak tablet cum smartphone device. The solid bar-shaped device measures 121mm x 64mm x 12.9mm and weighs 164gm. It is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor with 1GB ROM and 512MB RAM. Memory can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. Here is a video preview of Dell Venue:

The Dell Venue supports quad-brand GSM, EDGE, WCDMA, HSDPA and HSUPA. It has a 4.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a resolution of 800×480 pixels. The display is made of scratch resistant Gorilla Glass. One of the prominent features of the display is that it is slightly curved but that does not affect user experience. The device does not work in landscape orientation.

Other features include Stage UI, 1400 mAh battery, 8 megapixel camera with

auto-focus and LED flash light, Bluetooth 2.3 EDR, WiFi and AGPS. The device can be charged via USB port located at the bottom of the device.
