The iPad 2: Thinner, lighter, brighter display, micro SD, dual-camera and more

So far what we have heard, the second generation iPad will be thinner and lighter, and would feature a better display. It will also have a powerful processor and would support both CDMA and GSM network. The new iPad would also have SD card slot and dual-camera for taking pictures and Face Time video chat.

The first gen iPad was released in April. Since Apple releases its upgraded products after one year, it is widely believed that iPad 2 will also be launched in April. The new iPad will be thinner and lighter because Apple never makes its product upgrades heavier than its predecessors. Here is a picture of the two iPads showing how the second gen iPad would look like.

The iPad fans have been asking for a camera on their favorite device and Apple is going to fulfill their wish by providing two cameras on the device. Recently, another rumor came up that the iPad 2 would have a retina display but that is not the case. It would have a display with double the resolution of current iPad display. The new iPad display would have a resolution of 2048x1536 with 226 pixel per inch.

If you all remember the poolside TV commercial of Amazon Kindle 3 poking fun at the iPad reader. The new iPad screen can be used under sunlight as well. It will also have a spill-resistant body.

The iPad 2 will have a dual-core processor and more memory. It has also been reported that the new iPad 2 will have a Qualcomm chipset supporting CDMA/GSM network. It will also have a micro SD card slot but no USB slot.
