Demand for PCs had a healthy growth in Q4 of 2010

These day, we are perhaps too excited with smartphones and laptops and some experts have already started to say goodbye to the good old PC- both desktop and laptop. Well, as far as PSc for business is concerned, a healthy improvement has been noted in the fourth quarter of 2010 compared to the same time of 2009. According to Digitimes, there has been 7.2% growth in shipments of PC for business on a year to year growth.
HP, Dell and Lenovo all been benefited from this good news. They had seen their unit shipment to grow. However, it did not bring any benefit for Acer. Perhaps the main reason that Acer did not get any benefit is that the company focused on Europe a lot. European countries are yet to come out from the worst of the economic recession.
Acer wants to change its fortune in 2011 by focusing more on the Chinese market. This increase in the demand for PC has perhaps happened because both America and Asia have almost come out of the bad impact of the recession that plagued the world in 2009.
By the way, PC for business included both laptops and desktops. So, you should not simply write the good old PC yet.
