A number of content farms sprang up in Internet in the last 2-3 years. Economic recession in USA meant many people lost jobs and content farms got inexpensive workers to write on every topic imaginable. There is nothing wrong if the information is useful but the main goals of all the content farms is that their articles or entries would be at the top of Google results.
At long last, Google has officially declared war against content farms and this would make many bloggers like me very happy. I am not claiming that my content is superb but as an Internet user, I depend on Google.
According to the official Google Blog, the company has made some important changes in search algorithm and as a result, 11.8% queries are now showing different results. The goal is to decrease the rankings of ‘low-quality sites’. Google has given a definition of such sites, ‘sites which are low-value add for users, copy content from other websites or sites that are just not very useful.’. So, the search Engine wants high quality content that is valuable for people and is originally created to get good ranking in search results.
We are happy with this update from Google, what about you?
