Groupon revenue reached $760 million in 2010: Expects billion dollar revenue in 2011

Famous daily deal website, Groupon Inc. saw a revenue of $760 million in 2010. In an internal memo forwarded to Groupon employees earlier this year, Groupon CEO Andrew Mason revealed the matter. He further said that the company would earn billions in 2011.

He also wrote that, "By this time next year, we will either be on our way to becoming one of the great technology brands that define our generation, or a cool idea by people who were out executed and out innovated by others that were smarter and harder working,"

In 2009, Groupon Inc.’s revenue stood at $33 million. Of the $760 million revenue of the company $285 million came from overseas accounting for more than a third of the sales mad by the company.

However, Andrew Mason also warned that the company is currently facing major competitions from many other deal websites. The website was launched in November 2008. In 2010, Google made an offer to Groupon Inc. The search engine giant offered $6 billion offer, the highest in its history of acquisition. However, Groupon refused the offer.
