HTC Incredible S, Desire HD, Desire Z and Desire will get Gingerbread in the second quarter of 2011

The HTC Incredible S, Desire HD and Desire Z and the original HTC Desire will get on the air upgrade to Android 2.3 Gingerbread by the end of June.

HTC unveiled its latest HTC Incredible S at the Mobile World Congress 2011. The Desire HD and Desire Z were launched in September 2010 and were launched in Europe and Asia in October.

The original HTC Desire was announced in Mobile World Congress 2010 and was launched in April. Initially it came with Android 2.1.

The HTC Desire S and Wild Fire S will come with Android 2.3 pre-loaded.

According to the latest report of uSwitch, a “telephone comparison and switching service,” based in the U.K, HTC Desire is the most favorite smartphone in the region. The site collected data via its Mobile Tracker. It ranked phones based on live searches and sales figure.

HTC Desire came up at the top spot followed by HTC Desire HD and HTC Wildfire. The BlackBerry Curve 8520 was in fourth place followed by Samsung Galaxy S in the fifth position.

The Apple iPhone 4 went down to sixth position. It continually lost its position to Android smartphones since January 2011.
