Apple iPad 2: Smart cover and powerful GPU make it even better than Motorola Xoom

So what if it does not come with flash, micro-SD expansion, or USB, or a low quality camera, the iPad 2 is still the best tablet PC. The new iPad 2 is thinner and lighter comes with smartcover and a GPU that even makes the Xoom look ordinary.

The specialty of the Smart Covers is upon removing it, the iPad 2 instantly wakes up. You can also use it like a stand for typing or watching movies. The Smart Cover lives up to its promise. It turns on the device even faster than your Mac or a regular Windows PC or laptop.

The GPU of iPad 2 is even better than that of Xoom or first-gen iPad. A GLBenchmark 2.0 test, conducted by Anandtech, revealed that the Imagination Technologies' PowerVR SGX 543MP2 GPU is far better than the SGX 535 used in first-gen iPad and

Nvidia Tegra 2 of Motorola Xoom. Here is the result of a textured triangle test:

The first gen iPad produced 8.7 million triangles per second while iPad 2 29 million, a 3x increase and Xoom little more than 15 million.

Anandtech review said that the iPad 2 GPU makes it a great device for 3D gaming.
