RIM PlayBook is coming in April and will get a new video –conferencing app

Another leaked document revealed the launch date of RIM PlayBook. This time, an email sent out by Sears, Canada. It said that the RIM PlayBook is coming on April 10, 2011. It also said that in Canada, Sears will start taking pre-orders from March 12, 2011.

Crackberry also posted an image from Staples’ backend which says that the PlayBook will become available on April 17, 2011. In addition, a Sprint representative also said that the tablet will be coming on April 15, 2011 and it will come with cases and stylus. Initially, the PlayBook tablet PC will come in Wi-Fi only version.

It has been reported that RIM will offer a video conferencing application soon after the launch of PlayBook tablet PC. According to David Heit, VP of enterprise strategy, RIM will offer a new “peer-to-peer” video-conferencing app. It is not aimed for consumer use like Apple FaceTime app.

The PlayBook tablet PC comes with dual-cameras but there was no indication if it would support any video conferencing apps like Skype.
